Terms of sale
These terms apply to purchases from CritterPals. They sit alongside your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 — nothing here removes or limits those rights.

Who you're buying from
CritterPals is a New Zealand business selling in trade. Purchases are made from [Legal / trading name] (NZBN [NZBN if held]), [postal address]. You can reach us at hello@critterpals.co.nz. Because we sell in trade, your purchases are protected by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.
Prices, currency and GST
All prices are shown in New Zealand dollars (NZD). CritterPals is not currently GST-registered, so no GST is charged and prices do not include a GST component. Shipping is additional and is shown before you confirm your order. We take care to price accurately; if a genuine pricing error occurs, see “When your order becomes a contract” below.
When your order becomes a contract
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we accept your order, which we do by sending an order confirmation or by dispatching your CritterPal — not automatically at the moment of payment. If we can't accept an order (for example, an obvious pricing error or a part we can no longer make), we'll let you know and refund anything you've paid.
Payment
Payment is taken at checkout through our payment provider. Your full card details are handled by that provider and are not stored by CritterPals. We dispatch orders once payment has cleared.
Customised orders
Every CritterPal is customised to the design you choose, so we generally can't offer a change-of-mind refund once we've started preparing your order. Change of mind is not a right under New Zealand law — but this does not affect your Consumer Guarantees Act rights if an item is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose. If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible and we'll help if we haven't started preparing it yet.
Shipping & delivery
Delivery costs and timeframes are set out on our shipping & delivery page. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act we'll deliver within a reasonable time.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms removes, limits, or modifies the guarantees, rights, and remedies you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Those rights cannot be contracted out of for consumer purchases and always apply on top of these terms. How to make a claim is set out on our returns & refunds page.
Our liability
Except for the rights guaranteed by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, and any other law that can't be excluded, our liability in connection with your order is limited to replacing the item or refunding what you paid for it. We don't exclude or limit any liability that the law says we can't.
Buying from outside New Zealand
We ship internationally. For orders delivered overseas, any import duties, taxes, or customs charges in the destination country are your responsibility. The Consumer Guarantees Act protects goods supplied in New Zealand; if you're buying from overseas, your statutory rights depend on the consumer law of your own country.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law and the New Zealand courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
